Areas Where Cranes Are Most Commonly Used

Cranes are considered as one of the basic equipment in many industrial and commercial areas due to their strong lifting and carrying capacity. Here are some of the areas where cranes are most commonly used:

  • Construction Industry: Construction projects utilise cranes extensively, especially in the construction of high-rise buildings. Tower cranes save time and labour by quickly transporting materials and equipment to high floors.
  • Ports and Shipbuilding: Gantry cranes are used in ports to load or unload cargo containers onto ships. Special cranes are also required for the transport and assembly of large parts during shipbuilding.
  • Production Plants and Workshops: In production lines, jib cranes and bridge cranes are widely preferred for fast and safe transport of materials from one process point to another.
  • Storage and Logistics: In warehouses, especially in high-bay racking systems, cranes are used for loading and unloading pallets or large boxes. This saves both time and storage space.
  • Mining and Resource Operations: In the mining industry, cranes play an important role in the transport of raw materials extracted from mines. Cranes are also utilised for the maintenance of heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Energy Generation: In the installation and maintenance of renewable energy sources such as wind turbines, large mobile cranes are preferred for lifting heavy parts to heights.
  • Railway and Road Construction: In large-scale infrastructure projects such as bridge construction, special cranes are used to transport railway tracks and bridge components.
  • Aviation and Space Sector: High capacity cranes are used in the assembly and maintenance of aircraft, as well as in the assembly of rocket and spacecraft components.

Cranes are manufactured in various sizes and capacities, depending on factors such as the weight, size and travelling distance of the objects to be transported. This enables cranes to offer customised solutions according to different needs, thus making them versatile and indispensable. Vinçsan is a leader in providing customised crane solutions to serve such a wide range of applications.
